  1. Mrs. Yollis,
Jaden and I really enjoyed the "webinar" regarding the Ugandan Global Project. I hope that projects like these continue because it teaches the children so much. I was so happy to see Mrs. Harding on the chat. If we were able to raise that much money for this project, can you imagine what could happen if the whole school were to get involved in something like this? Amazing!!! It was so nice to see the educators from across the globe come together for this session... it really makes the world seem like a smaller place! Are you and the other "blogging educators" planning another project like this in the future? Your teaching is a remarkable example that I hope other teachers will follow!
Thank you for all of the new lessons and experiences you are teaching Jaden and the rest of our family.
    Sincerely,
    Marcie (Jaden's Mom)

  2. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

How things have changed since I was in third grade! Watching Hannah participate in the online conference with her Chaparral classmates and others from around the globe, was awe inspiring.

Congratulations to you and all others involved on a job well done! Your presentation was well thought out and engaging.

Thank you for creating such life changing learning opportunities for our children.

    Warmly,
    Marsha (Hannah's mom)

  3. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I thought the online conference was inspiring. It was very interesting to learn more about 2KM and also other info from the UGP.

I think what all of the kids did to help the Ugandans, was truly amazing.

My family and I are astonished that altogether we raised way over $3,000, which was our initial goal.

This was my first online conference and I hope to attend to many more in the future.

Are we ever going to have another online conference again?

If so, what will it be about?

    Have a great afternoon!

    Warmly,
    Adia

  4. Dear Mrs. Yollis and class,

I listened to the recording of the Uganda presentation and wished I could have joined in live. Everyone did a good job speaking and reading loudly and clearly. I liked the chat box too. I didn't know that smile faces work in the chat box.

I am glad that we were able to make contribute to this project.

    From,
    Miriam

  5. Dear Mrs Yollis,

Thank you for posting the link. I will let others' know about this.

It was so great to see so many of your fantastic students there yesterday! I think that was my favourite part.

If I had of been at school yesterday I would have loved to get some of my students involved in the conference too. What a shame I had a professional development day!

Like Marcie, I also enjoyed chatting to your wonderful principal!

  7. Mrs. Yollis,
I really enjoyed listening to the online presentation of the Uganda Project. This entire project has been so impressive from start to finish. All of the kids were very inspired to lend a helping hand to others in need. Our class worked with a worldwide team for a fantastic cause! This to me is amazing! We wouldn't have been able to have a project like this when I was in third grade. We learned a lot about classrooms and other kids lives around the world. I enjoyed the walk very much and Ileanna has now taught her little brother the songs she learned. We are still singing "Hello, hello, hello.....". The presentation was a wonderful way to finish. I too was happy Mrs. harding joined in the conversation. I was especially proud when Ileanna decided to share her thoughts and ideas!
I think all our kids did a great job. At the presentation and on the project as a whole. Way to Go Mrs. Yollis Class! Keep up the GREAT work!
    Sincerely,
    Ileanna's Mom

  8. Dear Mrs. Yollis,

I just watched the recording of the room. I loved how when you asked "If you can hear me do a happy face" because when you said that, so many people were putting a happy face. I also liked how since Adia was missing, Hannah read the comment and when it was Hannah's turn Adia read her comment. Finally, I enjoyed that so many people were joining the room. I really wish I was there and I could see it live. I think 3,000 dollars is a lot for the Ugandans! But, we earned 20,000! WOW! That leaves them 17,000 for another project! This is a great, inspiring opportunity for all of us to learn about the other people and also to help people from all around the world! Even just a dollar can really help the Ugandans. I am so happy to be a part of this. I am very sure that the Ugandans will love that we purchased land for them. My dad says that things have really really changed since he was in third grade. He also said technology has become much much better. I am very thankful for what I have. I am very lucky. Thank you for this learning opportunity.

    From your student,
    Ry♥n
